Just enquiring if there is a spin reel out there that is close to the quality of the daiwa hyper certate custom and not with quite the same price tag, they are a great reel but don't no if i can justify the $900,so after some ideas for some reels that would do the same job.

hi,

maybe the standard certate.well try shopping for what you are after overseas as in e bay in the states.maybe will get it a bit less than here.regards warranty..........they rarely fails and if they do,fix it yourself by ordering parts through daiwa australia.

last months,i bought a certate 3500HD through e bay in the states for round about A$640 delivered.most shops are after $730.........APPARENTLY THATS THE STANDARD PRICE SINCE THE PRICE RISE!!.i said b/s and got one for $90 less.

well,good luck on your hunt!!.

I have a Daiwa Certate 4000 which I bought from a Japanese store on ebay for $350 cheaper than shelf price in Australia. RRP is around $700 in Aust. Great reel. I then bought a Daiwa Heartland 4000XA reel which I believe is only available in Australia for $335 and I actually prefer it too the Certate 4000 for casting and retrieval. I was going to get a Sol 4000 but the shop I bought it from said for the extra $20 or so the Heartland is way better value. I now agree. Always look on US ebay before you buy to get overseas prices. Sometimes they are way cheaper depending on the Aussie dollar.

Goldfinch how is heartlands drag i have seen the 4000 and was interested in its performance, have you given yours a good workout and would you say that is fairly similar in performance to the certate.
