Hello,
My first report on here, been lurking around for a while so thought i'd contribute something.
Did a typical run in Darwin Harbour today to christen the new spinning/jigging outfit (okuma epix 80/Starlo Dou jig rod).
Manged to find quite a few willing trevally and a few skinnies as-well.
Action was pretty hot for the 3hour window after high tide.
Only managed to get a couple of pics as we had double hookups for the most part of it.
Going back out tomorrow probably i'll try and get some better pics.

Yeah mate at larrakeyah navy base, as you can see from the photos below quite close to the shore too. Returned there today to get some footage on the video camera but the batteries were flat, oops.
Caught another couple though, including a slightly larger queeny.
Lost a couple of lures to large GT's. Going out wide tomorrow - gotta get away from these damm ineddible fish - although they are awesome fun.

Just put up a quick YouTuba vid of another one caught today for a laugh.
Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l7O1HX0g94
Caught on 20lb flurocarbon leader, Sahara 4000FB and on a starlo squidgy spin rod.
Sorry for the crappy commentary but I couldn't be bothered doing anything about it. :P

next time ya around that area, go have a cast around iron ore wharf for me, if its still there. we use to get so many queenies, cod, gt and the odd barra there. i use to have so much fun there catching the big bat fish and hords of pikey bream and painted sweetlip. even get the odd coral trout, golden snapper and trickys there to but we allways had a hard time keeping them away from the big groppers or sharks that live there. great spot to fish. do you fish cullen bay much. there is heaps of gt, queenies and barra in the marina too

The iron ore wharf is being dismantled as we speak, making way for the waterfront/wharf re-development but yes I used to fish it a bit, still lots of fish there. I used to fish cullen bay alot landbased but now that I have a boat I wouldn't bother with it - mostly only small tackers in there (except for the barra 8-) plenty of 1m+ fish roaming around in there)

Ahh memories !!! Darwin Harbour ,Iron ore wharf ,Middle Arm , Main wharf it goes on . When a lot younger ( and silly )early 70's , a mate of mine and myself used to fish these places in my 10 foot deep V Brooker with a 5 hp Mariner .
What a machine ,we even tripped across the harbour to fish Mandora in it . Plenty of fish caught too .Good to see the old place still looking after the angler .
