Spot on Whitto ..... Not a pretencious bone in his body - just look at him , he looks like he would'nt have 2 cents to rub together , he's gear could only be described as :-/ He fishes exactly how Trev showed him 12 months ago - uses nothing but black & gold / Evil minnow slick rigs ...... never ever bought a hollowbelly ..... he'll bludge mine;D
But all that said .... how can you knock him , his gear or technique when it is clearly working for him - 8-)
Me I like bling & The grass is always greener :P
Cheers

Just how many fish did you get into your boat in total? Your trip just seems to keep getting better! - Richard

Sure is not bad Chris. 14 fish to yourself, it must have been very goog confidence building for you also as well as a steep increase in the learning curve. What do you think was the standout learning experience of this trip you can pass on?

I was expecting a tough trip , but still confident enough to catch fish.
OK ..... As for learning - I really got to see how conditions (wind direction) can change the productiveness of a location ....... however it does not stop you from catching fish !!!!
Moon phase ....... You would expect the moonrise (after sunset) to improve the bite .......... Not for us ( the fish were active & feeding prior to sunset & during the dark prior to moon rise ....... once the moon rose - boofing ceased along with the bite ......... this was a huge change to our Sept trip.
The last couple of days - we chased warmer water based on wind direction over the previous few days ......... found a 3 deg improvement & hooked / caught fish .
Expect the unexpected ... MW fished away from the point & caught fish ....... you would expect the fish to be over the shallows during the evening. ....... I threw big heavy storm shads away from the point & landed 6 - dropped 3...... mid afternoon.
As the moon waned - the bite came earlier ........ but reverted to a sunset bite in cooler conditions
As always ...... a positive mental attitude helps ( HAVE FUN !!!!!) ........ Keep casting if you think fish should be there -
There are more pieces to the puzzel ........ but :-/
