Mackay Gooseponds Barra - Lots of Rain

A mate and I ducked down to the Gooseponds yesterday, for a small barra each on soft plastics, the water had really dropped in the last few days, and started to clear ( not brown )

Just went for a look before, it's about 5 foot higher, and looks like you could plant cane in it. I just tipped out 145 mm out of the rain guage ( in the last couple of hours ), and it doesn't seem to be stopping

Geez, sounds like we've missed all the cyclone action up here in Townsville. You guys are obviusly copping it down there. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear there wasn't a cyclone just off the coast.

i didnt know there were barra in the goose ponds. are they a regular catch there or have they made there way up there iwth the recent rains ? are there any size to them, wouldnt mind trying for them on fly down there.
