Hi.
Just recieved a 2000lb trailer winch for my big five-0 birthday today.
It was bought from BCF for my 15ft F/glass runabout. Just wondering if anyone has one and if there is any issues fitting or operating(correct operation of the clutch dial?). I also want to run the wiring up to my commodores battery - any ideas?
Thanks. 8-)

Best way to wire up is to run cable 16mm cross section from your battery via a 80A resetable circuit breaker to your boot & put an anderson plug on the end. Then wire up another anderson plug with the wiring to your winch. This way you can use the outlet in the boot for other tings if required.
Just do the clutch up snuggly, you don't have to tighten the hell out of it.
Hope the winch serves you well. I have found though that the cheaper chinease models arn't all that reliable.
Remember to leave the car running while winching the boat up as well.

Thats the way to do it just use a good quality breaker or buy 2 and keep one in the glovebox because you never want to use the manual labour handle

Whatever you do... don't be stingy on the cable to the battery.....I have a mate who has a cable about 3 sizes too small and his electric winch is a very sad thing.
I could get his boat on faster with a good manual winch.

yep, and don't be shy about getting the trailer wet. the less load on the winch, the quicker it will work and the longer it will last. 16sq.mm should be good for 60 odd amps. i actually use a fuse for mine (powerwinch 315) but a cb will do the job too. chimo has come up with the good oil on winch use on here before, do a quick search in the boating section for a bit more info.
