Starlo Stix squidgy spin L 1-4kg... Should be $90-$100 most places. I recently picked up an M (2-4kg) for $74.95, very pleased with it.

Studwick sic stik pro is a good rod. I have a 1-3kg 6'6 for breamin and love it. They are usually around $169 but BCF had them on sale for $99 not long ago

Mate keep an eye out on here in the Classifieds. I have bought some fantastic gear through Ausfish.
You get a lot better gear for your dollar. Around $100 you will get a nice rod.
I picked up a T-curve for that a while back.

If you do go new there are some great rods under $100 also.
I grabbed a Shimano Catana about 2 years ago and it is still one of my favs.
It has landed whiting through to jacks.
The Xcel Weapons are just under $100 think.

Good luck.

Is the s/s blank still a graphite/composite?If so it may be a tad heavier than the other recomended rods but in general they are a solid rod for the outlay, should last for yonks with a bit of tlc.

would have to say the shimmano raider bream finesse (1pc) 1-3kg is usually around the 100 mark check out those large sports places you can pick them up for around 100. I have 2 myself, love them.

I'm not sure... I've got mine matched to a Daiwa Exceler 1500 and it's very light. I can cast for half a dozen hours at a time and not get sore wrists. I certainly can't say the same for my cheap glass rods :P

what is the advantage of buying a finesse rod in the 1-4kg range?

Is it angle to cast lighter lures farther?

Another one to add to the list Penn Pin Point Tournament.

I use a light Shimano Technium for soft plastics. Has good action and soft feel so you can feel every little nibble. I think I paid $40 so good option if budget is really tight.

Abu morrum 68 for about $80. Ive got the 6-8kg but i think they get lighter. Awesome rod has great pistol grips and goo quality guides. Got it from Tackleworld Townsville.

Get a 2nd hander or for $100 new............Wilson LCS bream rod 6'6 or 7ft 1-3kg or Berkley Dropshot 6'10 2-4kg, Pflueger's are more $129 not on special but worth it imo.

Starlo Stix Tournament litespin if you can stretch your budget. ;)
