Heading to 1770 tomorrow for a week and unfortunately I will be boatless for this trip :'( .

Just after some tips on some locations to fish land base. I will be fishing solo, so LBG will be out. Just after a few spots to throw somes lures for Jacks, Trevs etc...
PM me if you like.

Thanks again

G'day mate

I haven't tried myself but I've heard they get quite a few Gt's and the odd mack off the rocks at Round Head. I've seen what looks like some good ground to chase them on our way back from offshore and also have seen a few guys fishing there. That's about all i can suggest sorry. Hopefully someone can follow up on this info for you.

Cheers
Paul

Ps. Good luck mate

Round head is good and the rocks at the southern end of Agnes Water beach.

At Round Head you can pick up flathead on the sandy sections where the rock finishes on the inlet side, and on the far right of that sandy part, the sandy bit only goes out into the water several metres at the most, and then there is a rocky ledge that drops off very sharply and I recon some livies let out over the ledge would get slammed.

Lovely spot, wish I was there too.

Hope the fishing goes well.

Thanks for the advice. What are the general conditions around the head land like? Is it easy to land fish there by yourself? Usually don't like fishing off the stones by myself.

I haven't fished off the headland myself, only in that spot I mentioned, but my son has and said the fishing was good. He was there with a mate. I must admit that unless conditions are good it can be risky, but the headland has an east and west side so one side should be out of the wind, unless it is a northerly in which case it is probably a waste of time anyway. I like fishing off the headland at Fingal Head, so am keen to try the headland out at 1770 if I get a chance to go back.

Forgot to say to see Tony from the tackle shop at Agnes. He will be able to answer all your questions.
