Are there recognizable markers around the area to pinpoint the 'zones"??? It will be a bugger if you don't have a gps etc and no I am not going to use a sextant and rulers and a compass to plot my coordinates just for fishing..... drift fishing will prove to be a right pain in the , well you know the area I mean.

I thought I read somewhere that the areas that were to be "zoned" would be marked with bouys etc?

Agree, Giveitacrack, that Scott's Point was the best land-based spot on the whole peninsular. I used to hit it at low tide on dawn or dusk through June July August chasing land-based tailor. Have made some memorable catches there and also introduced a few novices to the thrill of bait spinning for tailor. I personally think that this green zone is the worst decision since it closes off an area for the land-based anglers and only leaves it open to the boaties. I'll still be fishing the area just north of the green zone for early morning snapper using the GPS to make sure I'm (just) legal. Maybe I should slip down tomorrow morning for one last go from the rocks!

Give the LNP a go Boys, and you might just not lose it. There's a good chance, anyway...

Cheers,

Freeeeedom, sounds like a fitting way to close off the area - good luck if you do, might even try to get up there myself.

This is ridiculous with all these greenzones. I mean they should have a season like the bottom end of Aus.

i fished there many times in the past...i still dont see how line fishing could have such an inpact on a area like that.....show me the 100s of reports of Ausfishers with heaps of fish taken there....sure we need some closed areas...but it seems to be mostly affecting the 12 tinny guy...make more arty reefs !!!

Yes I would have to say it was a great place to fish for all species of fish. Also Hays Inlet is another great fishing spot. Both these areas never had the pressure like the Pine River where trawlers go up and down killing what ever is in their way. It will be a sad day on the 1st of March. Bye bye Anna Bligh.

cheers Juggie.

Does that mean no more rock fishing from Scotts Point?

That was a most enjoyable spot to fish from, clean, easily accessible, and most times a fish.

Is there a book out on the new greenzones? I don't go fishing heaps, and its usually land based from Redcliffe, so sounds like i'm guaranteed to bugger up if i'm not careful.
