Hi all,

Just got back from a session on the Pine. I was planning on getting some live bait and chasing some lizards but first cast of the net I got a couple of prawns along with a couple of little mullet. So I popped one of the mullet on my line and went chaising the prawns. After about a dozen casts and 20 odd prawns (enough for my dinner) I decided that the mozzies had had enough of my blood for the night and came home.

I also got 8 undersized bream, 4 little mullet, 2 little fish that looked like a cross between a bream and a mullet and were slimey and 1 little one that looked like it would be fun to catch when it grew up. All the little fish (except the one I used for bait) went back for a later date.

Still haven't caught a legal fish on a line for years but the prawns nearly make up for it.

Throw out a live Prawn, it'll get hammered definately. Which part were you fishing?

The whole fish or just down stream of the Deep Water Bend ramp. Not sure which one you were after. Prawns taste better then fish so they come home!

Haha ok then. Try flicking out a small Poddie mullet near structure like the bridge pylons near there and drop offs after sand flats. Hope you get something legal soon mate.

A great night out non the less, best of luck on the legals pojie with fresh prawns you should have any trouble getting them soon enough. try some SP's and flick and drift, you can raise some nice flathead from the pine river, and they are fun on the light stuff.
