Found this on an o/s forum. The first good news out of Osaka.....
Daiwa and Megabass Form R&D Partnership
February 9 2009 2:25pm
This just in from our sources in Japan. The long rumored and supposed partnership between Daiwa Japan and Megabass is now official. Yuki Ito, founder and president of Megabass, has been brought into Daiwa Japan HQ to run their Research and Development operation. He will be in charge of new lures and rods for the mid level market. In return, Megabass is given full access to Daiwa's reel manufacturing capability. Ito also now owns a stake in Daiwa taking possession of a certain percentage of company's stock.
*********
I know of at least one fellow who will be very keen to hear "Megabass is given full access to Daiwa's reel manufacturing capability."

You may have just tented ya trousers,But I've just erected some sort of marquee.;D
This partnership deal between Daiwa Seiko and Megabass was pretty much sealed in November 08. :sneaky:
It will be intresting to see what rolls off the production line through 09 & 2010.8-)

mb most likely yes megabass. it does look a lot like the mb used in some other megabass merchandise
ito steez....not sure about that.
it could be..........the drag star setup looks the same likewise the side plate and front view. but then there is that twitching bar which asks more questions than it answers. but it also looks like a daiwa SMAK (?)

Wow. That really is huge news.
Some day, one of two things will happen. Either I will get a kick arse job and be able to afford these things that I drool over......... or I'll become a single man again and be able to afford to buy these things I drool over::) ::) ::)
*sigh* The things we give up for this "love" thing.
