Hey guys, last weekend i was in moreton bay and caught a heap of squire. I know squire is a juvinille snapper but im not sure if you can keep them. I released all the fish i caught but they were all around the 28cm mark. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

The legal size limit for snapper in queensland is 35cm with bag limit of 5 per person.
Any fisheries officer will tell you there is no such thing as a squire, they are all snapper.

ok thanks guys.
It's a good idea to keep a copy of the legal sizes and bag limits with you, at all times, when you are fishing, Mickeey.
You don't want to get yourself into trouble just for the sake of asking your local bait and tackle shop, phoning DPI & F on 132523 or asking a Fisheries Officer for a copy of the listings mate. ;)
You can also print this information off the DPI & F website.
