SP Deep Water Delivery System

Hi All,

We fish down Coffs way and have had some good success with Snapper and Pearlies on SP on the close grounds (16 - 30m) in the cooler months.

The problem is that in the warmer months the fish move out to the wider grounds 40-80m and i havent had much sucess getting the fish interested in SP's in this depth.

I have tried larger jig heads 1oz, played with patanoster rigs to no avail.

Has anyone got any ideas.

We fish in about 50m inside the GBR. I use the same SP in the deeper water, 7inch gulp on about a 1/2 oz 4/0, and I just add a small ball sinker running down to the jig head. I pick the size to get me to the bottom slowly.

in the shallower water up here off gladstone i normall only use 1/6 - 3/4..

when we move to the deeper 40+ stuff ill go up as much as a 1-1/2.. i havnt tried a 2 yet, but ive found the the 10-14lb fireline goes down alot faster with the finer diameter...
