Has anybody seen the new Trynos 8 & 10's. Would they be useable on 4kg and 6kg line classes? Interested if the cams on the drags will allow even increase from freespool to strike drag on these line classes. Love my old TLD5/10 but time to put them behind the bar and replace them with something newer.
Jeff.

Mate I ordered a Tyrnos 8 before christmas. It is a sweet little reel but it was too small for my application. So I swapped it for the 12 which was perfect. I sold it to a mate who put it on a fireblood baitcaster, he's gonna use it for impoundment Barra fishing. I'm not a reel tech. or anything but I'm pretty sure that it pulls the same drag as the Tyrnos 20. All the same the boys at BCF were drooling over it for a couple of days before I picked it up.
Good luck with your purchase.
Cheers Benny
Dunno if i know if it's true, but a bloke told me that the cams are set for the lineclass - ie tyrnos 12 - 12lb etc. So I'd assume the answer to your question would be yes.
I got the 12 for an 8kg standup outfit but haven't had a chance to use it yet:-[
sounds really cool in the garage though.
Another trick he told me is to sand off the corners on the outside of the handle crank - they take chunks out of wet hands.
