i started with an older 2 piece rod i found in the shed with most of the guides taken off to repair other rods. i thought if i shortened it a bit and fixed it up it would be a good light boat rod, the build is on!!!!!firstly i stripped the few remaining guides and sanded all the paint off. i then decided two glue the two pieces together as the top of the bottom section was cracked and was cut off and the top section was a loose fit. so with some araldite a two piece became a one piece. next i got some plasti-bond putty and covered the join in it. sanded it back and it looks like it was always a one piece. will keep posted until finished.

Breamboss01, I'm fairly new at rod building also and the best tip I have been given is don't bind the guides too tight ;) .

Ah, well said Grasshopper ;D
You bugger....Because of you I've got the bug bad again.
I've been down and turned up a timber butt and foregrip for that blank we set out.
The cook's not happy. Apparently I was supposed to mow the lawn instead ::)
Now look what you've started ;D
