Hi all,

After much nagging by a mate to anchor on the Curtain artificial, I relented and did it against my better judgement. There was no reef anchor on board, just my good one, and it is now a (hopefully temporary) addition to the collection of anchors on the reef.

I have attached white cylindrical float to the rope (actually its a fender attached) and it is at the southern end of the reef in about 16m of water. I havre the GPS co-ords if anyone cares.....

I am hoping somebody will be/ knows someone who is going diving at the Curtain tomorrow that I can get to retrieve it. I cannot get there tomorrow, but by the same token if anyone can confirm its still there tomorrow arvo, I will retrieve it on Thursday...

If anyone can grab it for me I am offerring either a cash reward or a free all expenses paid day out trolling for billfish in the near future on my boat, whatever suits the retriever.

To all the good folk fishing the Curtain at about 7.30pm Tuesday night I am sorry for the noise created by me trying to get the anchor off, but I really want it back!!!!

Thanks.

Shane.

Hey Jim,
Nah mate, I went back to Curtain on Thursday with some gear to get it back but the float was goneski and I couldn't see any rope underwater so my guess is someone has taken it or the rope has been cut. There were quite a few boats fishing around where it was left so I just cut my losses instead of annoying everyone that was fishing there. I've since bought a new anchor and chain now just need to find someone who can do a splice neat enough to get theough the winch!!! Might do a dive there when the wind backs off and see if I can find it though, never hurts to have a spare.

Hey Shane , sorry to hear about the anchor, just on the splice job, the boys at AT&S nets at redcliffe done a good splice for me a while back for five bucks! was wrapt and it went through the anchor winch pretty good also, hope this helps. Cheers Andrew
