I know this isn't the right place for this, but as the only motor vehicle designated section, I figured this section was as close as I am going to get.

Recently my brother wrote his BA Falcon off, through no fault of his own I might add. He currently has about 3 grand worth of rims on the car which are not covered by his insurance policy and thus he gets no extra money for them. He's been advised by his insurance company that he can have the rims as long as he puts another set of wheels on the car.

Anyway, I located a set of wheels with tyres for $60 in the local rag today. Trouble is they are off a 1995 EF falcon. I know that all falcons (except the really old ones) have the same stud pattern of 5/114.3, but am unsure of the offest.

So the question is, what is the offset of the EF and BA falcon studs, and will the EF wheels fit onto a BA falcon?

If I don't get an answer, I'm going to head round to this bloke's place this arvo and test them out on my car (BF Falcon, exactly the same as the BA), but as he lives out of town a bit, I'd rather no if it will be a waste of time or not beforehand.

A quick answer would be appreciated.

TIA

We worked it out, the falcons for AU onwards are the same pattern and offset, however, because of improvment in the brakes, a 16in rim minimum is required to fit over the BA calipers. Earlier model falcons have the same pattern but a shallower offset so the outer edge of the wheel sticks out from under the guards.

But it ended up being irrelevant anyway. A mate had a set of BA rims with no tyres, and a local tyre shop was able to fit old tyres to them and only charged a minimal fee for the fitting which was good. I guess it benefitted both of us really, my brother got his mags back, and the tyre shop doesn't have to pay for disposal for the tyres they gave us.
