Went for a spin this morning down at the spit to try and break in my new sealine bull 6000. Arrived there at around 3am so I just took it easy with a few casts here and there, as the sun started to rise I got stuck into it but it was boat heaven already! Decided to give a pilly a go and after 10 I hook a little ray, off goes the sinker and on the float goes. Now while re rigging a tinny rocks up to the platform where I was fishing to pick up a couple of surfers, after a little while they move of to the right and I cast out to the left of them ( a good 50m) and what do they do? back right over my line and then take off laughing and pointing at my float drifting away! F###ing C###S!
Had enough of em and went to Burleigh heads for a look. Hooked a choppa around 40cm but dropped it at my feet :'( it would have been my first caught on a slug, nothing after that besides a Silver Trev (37cm) caught on a pilly which put me in a good mood again ;)

No pics as my camera has shat its self

Cheers, Mick.

Mick,

Recipe for disaster trying to fish the seaway at the moment.

With the Marlin on,Holidays on and good weather I can just imagine how many boats would be heading out of there.

Mate you should see Noosa at the moment ......boats EVERYWHERE...

Never seen it so busy.

Happy new year mate.

Unlucky about the boat traffic, why didn't you try the Jetty? Much better fish in my opinion.

It would have been packed just like the seaway Tom, did you end up going down?

Cheers, Mick.
