I'm looking for a new bassing crank bait rod, Just wondering what you guys are using as crank bait/spinnerbait rods within a resonable price (<$250).
I own a Shimano River Raider which I know would be perfect for this application but it also works perfect for sp's (1g), so I want to leave well enough alone and find something else that will do the job just as good or maybe better. Rod will either be matched up with another pixy or another alphas (depends on how light I want it to cast)
In need of a light spin rod aswell was thinking a pflueger trion 7ft 2-4kg, would be mostly used for sp's and suspend minnows, bass, bream, flatties, etc

Look no further:
Go for a 2009 model Shimano Tournament T-curve BC Bass 361 191cm 1-pce 3-5kg for $239 from Mo Tackle.
Or you can get the 2008 model (much of a muchness I guess) for $195
You might be able to get the nitro crankbait rod for $250 - depends on the stockist - lovely IM8 blank

Mate has one it's not really what i'm looking for. They seem a bit over rated (actual weight ratings)/are a bit stiff for what I was thinking for crankbaits

I guess it depends on how big the baits are, for a 35mm scorpion it'd probably be too stiff for casting and the smaller action of a lighter lure but for a tilsans bass it might be perfect.

Hi Hairy...
Look no further (yet again) -
Check out the IAN MILLER MILLENIUM SERIES.
There is a 'Mega Bass' 5' 8" 3-7kg outfit for $249 and for lighter apps there's an "Ultralite Bass' 5' 10" 3-6kg option for $239 (and two other choices as well)
I saw them on the 'Mo' site under the "other" option where the rod brands are. Says they are High Performance USA made rods...
