Lucanus Jigs, do they really work people ask me.
I think the were the success story of my weeks fishing.
these things caught fish when bait & plastics wouldn't get a touch.
don't know why they just do. Jimmy had a little trouble with his as the hooks were tangled in the tow point on the lure i think, something that you need to check

Awesome footage there, they must have been thick.
What kind of depth are ya fishing?
How far offshore are you?
What weight line and leader do you use?
Marty.

Fishing 85-100ft, varyting from 25 to 50km from Arno Bay, no more that 40kms offshore though.
using for plastics mixture 4kg-10kg line & mostly 40lb mono leader.
depending on tide 28-60gm jig heads get down ok in most tides.
lucanus jigs get down great
cheers

What rods & reels are you fellas using for the SP's?

for use on charter shimano symetre 4000's on starlo stix tournament max spin rods 4-7kg i think, a good beefy setup with 20lb braid, if to use myself all the time i would run max of 15lb maybe 10lb braid with a midspin rod, for the punters i go a bit heavier, some have broad shoulders???

i also run a shimano aspire 2500 with 4kg braid to use myself & run on same rods.
the lighter line gets down quicker & has a bit more feel when in 80-100ft.

choice is yours, we can tag a few fish & released them. i've just started to recapture a couple fish we tagged last day in november so they've survived.
we have quite a good KGW fishery for those willing to chance their arm.
yummmmy whiting for tea
1x 60cm + snapper & 5x 38-60cm snapper per person & 10 KGW each
has been done in the same day
cheers

Nice Videos Ash!

Wouldn't mind coming over to check out some of that action.
Whats the best time of the year to fish Arno Bay?
Also,
I checked out Arno Bay on Google Earth, just to the south in the water are a bunch of large circles, are they tuna farms or something?

Cheers
