Gday Viewers Laid to rest a close friends 8yr old beautiful boy this morning after a tragic boating accident on the sunshine coast that could have been avoided.
Please take care and be aware of conditions and kids at all times.
So many lives affected and such a waste of a precious life.

y'know I was just thinking today that xmas is bound to throw up an avoidable boating tragedy for one unlucky family.
let's hope this year I am proved wrong.
good post Dave - lets hope your message rings some bells with readers and they all (including me) ensure we are ultra vigilant out on the water this Xmas.
might I also add - as a new father - also keep an eye on your kids near water. the amount of kids drowning recently has truly shocked me and Mrs Mik01. I gotta tell you it has terrified us into checking our pool fence and ensuring the little fella takes swimming lessons.
cheers,
Mick

It's terribly sad to hear of a young life lost in tragic and avoidable circumstances.
Your bringing this subject up, may just make a difference to someones thoughts, that will save a life.
Thanks and Enjoy Life
Chris
So many lives affected and such a waste of a precious life.
No parent should have to lay a child to rest.
It hurts enought laying one's parents to rest.
With school holidays about to start, kids will be everywhere and we can't be too carefull.

It's so hard to be on top of everything all the time, and when it goes wrong it can be nothing short of tradgedy,
I heard of a 7 yr old boy that was told to get his shoes fr the boat ramp, after not coming back to the car the parents started looking for him,, cops came and found him 10 m from ramp under water, he must have been running ( like a kid does) and slipped and bumped his head on the ramp, sad story , keep an eye on your kids as much as you can and even more when near the water..............

Sorry to hear the news Dave,
I've had to do the same as you just did once before........never again...please.
Such a terrible waste, but thanks for a great post that will get us all thinking.
Be strong mate, Good Luck.
