Hi all.

Heading up the coast early/mid december to mid Jan in the van. Mate has a property on Petrie Creek.

Never really fished the area and was wondering if anyone could give me a lead on where to fish and what for.

Will have the tinnie and I believe it would take me 10-15 mins to get to bridge or about same to Bli Bli... main part of the Maroochy River --- Not far at all.

Not after xx spots just a heads up about the area to give us a chance at a feed or two.

Any info would be great and Thanks.

Cheers Pete

Grunter bream and the odd catfish up Petrie creek, flatty around the sand banks at the mouth of Eudlo creek (one creek east of Petrie), whiting around chambers island, bream scattered everywhere and nowhere...

In my opinion, forget the cod hole...15 years of fishing the Maroochy (admittedly with a lot of set and forget fishing) and the cod hole has been the worst spot of them all.

Apparently trevally can be caught over at the twin waters wier, but I've only caught a couple of decent bream there.

I did get a couple of good flatties over near picknic point, near the island with the really close together nav markers at the western tip.. Goat island maybe?

Apparently tailor around the mouth, but I've ever only caught one there myself and that was in 1994... I can't say I've tried too hard there, so take it as you will!

I hope that's of SOME help... I know there are people here who can give you much better advice than me!

Matt.
