It seem the reel foot on my CVZ 203 has become slightly loose and there is now a little play side to side when the reel is screwed into a reels seat on a rod. Obviously the 2 rivets that hold the reel foot down have started to come apart over time, Has any one else experienced this problem? is there a solution, can the rivets be tightened down again or re riveted or do you have to basically buy a new frame?

Hi Chris,
I reckon you have checked for this, but in case not, some of the older Fuji b/cast reel seats suit ABU6500 sized reel feet pretty well, but not Calcutta 200 or Daiwa HRF - on my rods with these winch fittings, the movement is between the reel foot and the winch fitting, not between the reel foot and reel frame.
If it is the rivets, then they should be able to be peened to tighten them - there are fitters etc on this site better qualified than me to give advice on that

At first i though it was a reel seat problem however on closer inspection it is most definitely not, the reel foot is actually moving side to side :o . I guess I'm also a bit worried the rivets will let go and the reel will rip out collecting all the runners along the rod as it disappears into the water attached to a decent fish. Has any one had the rivets peened to tighten them again, where can i get this done?
Cheers Chris
