Never tried it myself, the only bit of Jarvis Walker fisking kit I have previously been happy with was a Cap.
But when you are casting all of whats left of your 125 yds of Fire line completely off the spool its time to look for a replacement.
Hercules comes in 250 metre spools for $39 at the big K and today is 25% off fishing and camping gear day so that will be about $30.
Any experiences?
I am looking at putting the 20 lb on a TSS4 and maybe a spool of 50 lb on a TLD20.:-/

id seriously consider against it mate, with your line being the only contact with the fish it pays not to scimp out on quality. fireline is available in bulk spools from various distibutors id have a look and see if it is a cheap enough option for your circumstances

I've got a couple of reels spooled with the 80lb and I use it for jigging ambers, kingies, sambos etc, no problems to report. Seems supple enough, colour change is helpful to let you know where the stirke zone is. I use suffix on all my reels, mostly performance as it is a thinner guage, and matrix pro for threadlines as it is very supple and lays up nicely, the herculine is on a coup[le of xos threadlines and as I said, never a problem

I have used it in 6lb, 10lb and 50lb over the last year and a bit - the lighter stuff on a spinner and the heavy on an overhead. It's ok and I have landed a 52cm jack on the 10lb but I think there is better out there. I'm switching to xptuff in the 20 - 30lb range and use sunline for the light stuff. The 50lb Hercules was harder to tie knots in due to being very stiff but it's very tough.

Cheers,

Pete

I run 30lb on my new Oceano and have had no probs as yet. local tackelo gave me a spool to have a crack with and at that price i wasn't going to say no.
It revolved around the age old question.Jarvis Walker is still crap, isn't it ?
Cheers

Had a reel with 6lb hercules on it....it has been used to cast slugs at tuna to 5kg and kingies of similar size..... ties good knots and is supple after a few uses. Great stuff I reckon, and cheap as chips. can't say how the heavier grade stuff handles but the lighter line is great. I've tried 4lb fireline crystal recently and its about to get dumped due to random breakages.....I just cant cop a trick with fireline.

Cheers Roo.

I can't comment on the herculies but i've always used fins for my heavy offshore gear and platypus for the barra and creek rigs. They're both nice and soft, have almost zero memory and are some of the thinnest around. I know they're more expensive than the price range you're looking at but they're worth every penny.
