seems the fellahs i caught on saturday night i should have broken there fingers when i had the chance, today i went out to boat figuring i should get everything out.. i had countless tackle boxes hidden under the bunks. but i was too late, all the bunks were turned up, and everything gone!
as lists,
1x seahornet speargun 1 meter, no sling.
plano tackle boxes around 4 from memory,
black magic tackle bag
the plano boxes contained hundereds of 7766 mustards. in sizes from about 2/0 thru too around the 10/o size from memory, also large torpedo swivels, countless 14/0 7699s, 7691s, 7690s. ranging from 12/0 to 16/0.
the black magic bag contained dozens of large skirts, and large rapala cd series,
most skirts were pakulas and some citer mixed in, also large lumo soft squid,
the boat was also loaded with jerry cans. 20lts of fuel in each, these remained untouched. which points to young teens to me, probabally the ones from the other night getting even,
the neigbour seen 3 people at 820pm last night. 2 were in the boat with torches, and one standing by, the one standing by was a big boy apparently ( prob there back up for this time if they were caught) he dident think anything of it untill he seen me today seaching the boat, as he said he thought it was me and a few mates getting ready for a early morning fish, as i tend to do,
anyways to cut a long story short, will be calling the police in the morning for advice. as im not too sure weather tey can finger print white fibre glass?
If anyone is around the rothwell/ redcliffe area and sees any of this gear in a pawn shop or similar. or gets offered anything like this for sale, please PM me instantly. As now im really keen to catch up with these fellows indeed!

bloody theves,
if you do catch them, and they end up with a few bruises and a bit of skin off, there are 5 magic words you need to use,
" well officer, if was dark and i saw something in his hand, (i do have knives etc in the boat) which i thought it was a weapon, "I FEARED FOR MY LIFE" so took reasonable steps ensure my safety
be very careful though, that you don't wear an assault charge
nothing worse than knowing some dirty thief has been through your gear
hope you get you gear back
cheers

Maybe keep an eye out in the local paper for sale section also - they might try to offload there too. I hope karma gets them back - that will teach them! All the best in getting new gear mate.

The question will be asked.
Why leave all that gear in the boat especially seeing you've already had visitors ?
That's like leaving your wallet in the consul of a convertible

Then don't be shocked, surprised and peeved when it goes bush.
My gear is reasonably safe. Under the house with pooch watching.
Won't go rusty there either.
Prevention is a bucket load better then cure

Yeh it usally doesnt live under the bunks. Its more my fault for leaving there between trips, But then agian its my boat, why should i have to strip it every trip, I should be able to leave everything in it.But i guess in this world its just impossible.
On a brighter note.... Now i have an excuse to buy more and newer gear :D

Jeez its not as if you left some game rods/reels sitting up in the rocket launcher or something. If you can't leave a tackle box out of view, under the bunk while parked in your own driveway, without being accused of "tempting fate" then I give up.

That sucks. I am lucky, my boat just fits in the garage. Begs the question though, if someone stole my big tackle box i would be down a good $1000, would insurance cover that?

TunaKing2008, I cant believe a fellow fisher would do that to another at a ramp? or was it just bogans hanging around the ramp? either way its getting bad, Just as well you got it back, Im not sure what id do if my big rods got stolen. More then likly go door knocking till i got it back haa!

keep an eye out in your local second hand stores.
Most of them take details of the seller as this is an easy way for these pr!cks to off load the goods.
