Had a very interesting morning on the water today. Launched a bit later then usual, got away at exactly 5am to a very misty Tinaroo. As it was very thick and visibility was poor, I decided to pull up to a snag I had been wanting to try for sometime, havnt fished there in the past but not scoring any fish. Turned out to be the right desicion... on my 3rd cast of the day I got walloped by a super size fish which was like a freight train. Straight away I knew what I was onto, and stuck it to the fish. 7/8mins later the slab of 122cm fish came to the surface for me to net. As I was fishing by myself as usual, it was a mammoth job to net the fish and bring it aboard my little Boat, where I then tried very hard to free the hooks. The fish made a mess of the Bomber bigtime... tore apart the middle Size 1 Owner like it was plastic... in the end it ws a battle against time to get the hooks out and I eventually had to get pretty aggressive with the hooks and ended up leaving a prong of the Owner stuck in its lip!!! Back she went and I swear I have done something to my arms when I put her back in the water... my arms are still aching. Dissapointed I couldn't get a pic of her with me, but got plenty of awesome Truth Matt shots (thanks to Fitzy... broke the matt in first trip, 3rd cast!). The fish looked like a cow when it got airborne and the mist made it all the more surreal.

Just like every capture, theres something special. As the title of this thread says 'one legged', thats exactly how I caught it... on one leg, with a coffee in my hand. I had just poured the coffee when I rocked up and halfway during the retrieve I grabbed it from the deck, at the same time scratching my ankle with my other foot when I thought to myself "if I hook up... Im in trouble". BANG. I believe this is the new technique that we should all be using for our feet... trust me, those Owner's were set!

I went on a little later into the Severin on a beautiful fat morning, and had a good shot at a few places that we usually rape. No good at all, so I decided to take the morning off fishing wise and go for a travel. Went right up the Severin Ck (I mean as far as possible!!!!) and on my way back couldn't help but have a fish at the infamous Aus Day Bay which we come to know it as. Anchored up on this flat adjacent to the River bed and began to work a 1m Scorpion. Didn't take long to hook up here either, this time with both feet on the deck. The fish went airbourne instantly and I then realised the size of the fish... almost identical to the one I caught 2hrs before. We have caught alot of fish in this spot before, and most of the fish when hooked scream off the flats and into the Riverbed where they go deep... well this fish did the exact opposite... it went straight back in to the timbered flats and I have never seen a more powering run in my life from a fish... it was fasssssst. After a good 4/5mins of unknitting ine from alot of spindle and stump, I eventually recovered my very batted Scorpion which had all Trebles straightened and the leader was like 5lb cotton. Oh well... woud of been one he of a fish.

For a three hour morning, I couldn't think of a better way of spending my time.

Pic's will come soon... they are worth the wait!!! Apologies to Nav and Vin... mate our computer is in for a Service and won't be back for a few days... can't load pics on this machine (mates) which is far too old. Sorry again... they will come soon.

Cheers!

Well done Theo what a great morning, thanks for the Tinaroo update.

Yeah landing those fish by yourself is hard work on the whole body that's for sure.

It was a good laugh when i read that you had a coffee in your hands at the same time - a good effort to still land that monster. On one leg makes the report even better!!

Cheers Lyndon.

Theo, congrats on an awesome fish and a new PB!!! You just had to go and get one 1cm bigger didn’t you!! Great fish mate and well deserved, certainly blows your previous 108cm (casting) away.

It’s a shame you couldn’t get a shot of you holding it but nonetheless, still a great personal achievement – especially by yourself.

P.S. Don’t sweat it about the other photos mate.
