I'm going to have a crack at trolling for Tuna/Dolphin fish and maybe Marlin starting this spring/summer on th emid north coast/Sydney. The question is, how many rods????? I've never done this before, only seen a few dvd's on it and read a few web pages/magazines.

I've got a 5.7m half cab, with rod holders at 90 degrees on each side and 2 in the corner at the back. The idea was to Troll out on the shelf but I'm not sure how many to put out. 3?4?5?

If I troll 3 lures, and maybe a teaser/daisy chain is that enough to entice the fish? Or do i really need to have at least 4 in the water. Am i wasting my with less than 5????

I've got 3 rods heavy enough for the job and am contemplating a 4th while at BCF tomorrow. I will be using 4" skirts, minnows, xmas trees and poppers.

So what have others had success with?? 3/4/5?

Thanks in advance.

You only need 3 in fact you'll get away with 2! It's the boat that does the attracting! Get yourself a mirror teaser,eg Witchdoctor and maybe a daisy chain of squid and poppers, to assist in atracting a fish!

Troll you 2 rods of the corners not 2 far back and maybe run a shotgun back abit down the centre .
