Thinking about buying a BT 50 to tow the new Cruisecraft which for all intents and purposes has a BMT wet weight of about 2.5T. I have been searching the net and seen a couple that look like reasonable value but I looked on Redbook and they state that max towing weight is 1800kg. Now my old man has one and I could have sworn the max capoacity was 3 tonne?? I am o/s atm, and he is on a holiday so I can't contact him to confirm if this is the case.
Can anyone shed some light please??

Yes 3 tonne braked. Just started towing (Ute is only 2 months old) my 2 tonne boat and the bt50 has no trouble at all. Holds the hills a lot better than my old non turbo 80 series

Thanks Mal,
Appreciate it mate, I'll keep looking for one in need of a new home. There was something mentioned recently about a sale on BT50's, anyone know if it's still going and when its due to end??
Cheers.

Not sure if the sale is still on but my brother was looking at a Ford Ranger (same car) and there was a big diff in price between them. My father has the extracab with suicide doors He recons it tows great! Not towing 2.5t but says he forgets he's towing sometimes its that effortless.
Cheers
Chris
