Is it best to use Fluro or Mono leader when using sinking Stick Baits and Sinking or Suspended Poppers?

If I want the lure to stay on the surface, I'll use mono, because it floats. I find it helps some poppers keep their face at the right angle for good splash and for stickbaits to move more freely as the line isn't hanging down and dragging the nose.

Didn't know there was such a thing as a sinking or suspended popper? i thought all poppers floated as they are a surface lure:-/

I generally use FC for anything that i want to sink and mono for surface work.

Although, I prefer to use mono when throwing weighted plastics to schools of surface feeding fish (that wont eat slugs or lures retrieved at speed) as it helps slow the sink rate and keeps the plastic nice and level as it flutters down the first meter. Rip it back a meter or so and let it flutter back down. The mono just helps it look a bit more natural.

ah yes, those little solid resin ones. Would you actually want them to sink though?

I thought they were only solid to aid in casting, but come to think of it, they do say 'sinking' on the packet.

Would they work as a popper if they are under the surface though?
