Just curious if anyone has seen the new 10000 twin power. I haven't had a chance to have have look for myself.

The 10000 is fairly compact , - body of a 6000/8000 size but with 10000 size spool & rotor. (Lighter than a 10000 Stella). High speed 5.7:1 I think it looks pretty cool, but the stella looks very cool :) .

Hi Janelle
Do you have the specs for the 10000FC...weight, max drag etc? I've been trying to find out some more about this reel for a couple of weeks...see thread below:

Hi Ian,
Actually weighed it on the weekend to email to a mate in the UK. It is 580g compared to the Stella 10000 at 638g.
As a guestimate 10 -12kg on the drag but will find out some more info for you in the morning.
Cheers,

Hi Janelle
Thanks very much. The max drag of the Japanese Twinpower 8000PG is listed at 15kg...here's hoping the 10000fc matches or exceeds this. It will prove a very popular reel if that's the case. I don't suppose you have a photo of the 10000? No worries if not.
Cheers and thanks again

Specs on the box:
Gear Ratio: 5.7:1
Weight: 575g
Ball Bearings: 7
Roller Bearing: 1
Line Capacity: 16lb mono 220 yd (but I think that is a bit understated)
Comes with a spare spool

The photo doesn't show it but sitting here with it under my desk light the paint job is cool. It has a metallic green flec through it.

Cool, thanks for going to that effort Janelle, looks great. It's strange that they wouldn't put the big round septon handle on this reel. The body size looks very compact. Does it feel sturdy?
Cheers

The New Saragosa looks to be a winner too. Nicely fills the gap between the Spheros and stella.
I think the 14000&18000 saragosa pulls 20kg of drag!
Good to see Shimano putting some thought into whats needed and wanted in the market place. I cant afford to buy another stella so this twin power/Saragosa is a nice fit. As the spheros feels a little cheap IMO.

Hi Ian,
Have been trying to find out more info on the max drag on the Twinpower 10000FC. The reason it is not published anywhere is that it is a UK model. Apparanently they don't refer to max drag rating on reels. From what I can find out it should not be any different to the Japanese model in terms of max drag but without putting line on it and running the drag checker I wouldn't know for sure. The service guys at Shimano agree though that there should be no difference.
With the handle - it is small. I, of course, have small girly hands ;) and even I would prefer to have a larger ball handle. Am not sure what aftermarket handles are available for the new reels. The reel itself feels really sturdy though.
Hope that helps,
Janelle

Thanks Janelle, very useful info. I can't see the anti-reverse switch in your pix...is it under the reel, or does it not have one (a la Stella) ? Also, would you mind if I posted your pix on another site?
Cheers

Hi Ian,
The antireverse switch is on the base of the body, just below the rotor. Quite neat and tucked up and away. Will try to take a photo so you can see where it is.
Cheers,
Janelle
