Good day all,
Anyone running a Daiwa Oceano 4500j out there.
Do you find the handle a tad sloppy (spline)?
Mine came with a poxy plastic knob as opposed to the advertised rubber model(re-Capricorn) did any sell with a rubber knob?
Any feed back would be great.
Will not be back on line until tomorrow morning
cheers all

My Capricorn 4500j has a plastic knob.
Good day diabolical,
Thats interesting,Diawas cattle dog states that both have a rubber jigging knob. How old is your Cap. i wonder if they have changed the reels specs and not the cattle dog?
Is the handle a tad sloppy on the Cap. I feel the Oceano has to much movement (slop) for my liking.Nice reel shame about the handle
Cheers

The Capricorn is about 3 years old. Any I have seen in the shops have had the same plastic handle. Rubber would be better but I find it fine for me.

Not very sloppy beyond what you would expect. Maybe the extra bearing in the Cap. has something todo with it. Would be strait foward to put in an extra bearing for the handle.

One of my favorite reels I run 10kg and 15kg on it. Mainly gets used on a Tcurve 200 jig stick these days but I do like the look of the Monster mesh pe2-4 in 6'3" or 7' as a new partner for the Capricorn. A Catalina or Saltiga would be nice but the Cap/Oceano are hard to go past for the money.

top info thanks
The seven foot monster looks good, there a nice tough looking stick.Remember the old (10-15 years) Daiwa meshed rods, tough as nails, still run every now and then an old 20lb sealine stroker which is a similar build.Love her.
Cheers
