last tuesday had a chance to head out, while the guys were bottom fishing, i decided to go up front and flick a few S/P,s close to the reef, while i was waiting for the sp to sink down, my mates rod went zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, i turned my head, and at the same time i had a good hit with the sp, and before i even had the chance to look at the rod all i heard was a snap, yep, the saltiga broke, boy was i pissed, then took it in yesterday midday, guy at the counter was taking my details and was going to send the rod away, Peter, the owner came over and had a look/chat, he then asked one of the staff if they had one in stock, which they did, handed me the new rod and said he would deal with Daiwa, just stoked on the service Peter gives out

I have been a regular at Cairns Tackle World and they have even talked me out of buying a reel as they stated what I had would do the job. Now that is service. I was there to buy a reel in the $3 - $400 dollar mark. However I will probably buy another reel as a fisherman never has enough gear. ;D
They have always provided quality advice and they do back up their products. ;)

I went in there for the first time a couple of weeks agao. Great service and happy to point out some spots and advice on plastics and how to use them. Also got a good filleting knife for 20 bucks which I thought was very reasonable.
They have managed to hook me. I will be going there from now on. I think they are owned by Jack Erskine of Erskines tackle?

Rob is on the rec fishermans side -not just common lip service but he puts his time and money where his mouth is, as a result they see more cash from me than they would if they where just another tackle shop.
cheers fnq

Up flying up to Cairns this week to fish Tinaroo and after reading this post will definitely be stopping in to stock up on some Erskine Drag upgrades. If I get busted up by a big barra, will they give me a refund;) ;D .
Have to support great service like that.

I've copped some real bad attitude and bad (read:IDIOTIC) advice from that store on the Northern Beaches - definitely NOT worth the drive!!
BOTH Tackle-World Stores in cairns are EXCELLENT and, believe it or not, there's a discount sportinggoods chainstore at Stockland Earlville that has a guy who really knows his stuff too!
