have you guys ever tryed to fix a cracked lure. i got one of my poppers verry heavily smashed this morn and the fish split the tail of the popper, water can now get in the lure and the tow point on the tail is just holding in there but i no with the next good fish i get on it, it will rip the tow point out. is there any good glues that will hold it back together and maybe hold the tow point in there. what do you do in this situation. iv tryed to take a pic of the crack but you cant make it out that well, and some of the runts that were smashing it befor the jack got to it.

Chuck it to the shi###### & buy a new.
If you are determined to try & fix it try Locktite super glues, brilliant & super strong!

Make sure you use a glue that wont melt the plastic ... take it from me who thought I could remove the paint job off a popper with nail polish remover ... melted like a witch on a spit!!!

the glues that acrylic fabricators use would probably do it. If you know anyone in the industry all you need is a enough to cover a match head, or if in brisbane shoot me a PM & i will give you a bit to try..

chuck it nuggy. Youll lose another big jack on it, and I'll be saying I told ya so....
i still have nightmares about big jacks Ive lost to gear failure, you never really get over it, but you learn not to risk it again.
cheers

Andrewi think i will get away with the fix up. i just got the dremal out and drilled a hole in the tail so i can put a pin in the tow point hole that is inside the lure, now its as strong as ever. iv glued the hole thing back together to so no more water inside and now its ready for action again. i hope it holds, it should right but like ya said, il feel pritty stupid if it fails and if it dose, hehe i want ya to go to town on the, i told ya so's ok hehe

If that doesn't work Nugg, try 'WELDON #16'. Its a thick acrylic glue that (as its name says) actually welds the 2 sections together. Tougher than it ever was.
Most plastic fabricators or sign shops would have some, or at least know where to get it.

I know how much you like playing with lures nuggy, so good luck with it.
If youre determined to use it, then Id test it first. Sink the rear hooks into the backyard fence, lock up the dag, walk back 10m, and lean your body weight into it. If it can hold 70-80kg of bloke, then its ok. I do this to test my knots. Better to bust it on the fence, than on a big jack.
good luck with it, I hope it works.
cheers
