OH! soooooo close

Got to Crystal creek at 5:15am this morning to targer Jacks and Barra. Rather quiet until my live herring got hammered. I sunk the hook and then reeled like hell as this bugger came straight for me Ended up being a mulberry red coloured JACK. I have never caught a legal Jack so I was pumped until I measured it. It came in at 34cm..................aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarGGGGGGG GGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

so close yet so far. It was his lucky day. Came home with a nice buck(muddie) and 2 trevally.

Next time

I will get my legal Jack this year...............I can feel it in my bones

I know the exact feeling. My first jack landed in a boat was 34cm as well. Actually i was pretty happy about it, cos Id been targetting them for many months before I got him. Any jack is a good jack.

bad luck kev....so close, but yet so far. You'll get your legal jacks one day, I've seen some stonkers pulled out of that creek landbased.

I am OK in a boat in the creeks..................I have been up creeks off the Haughton and also the Bohle. Anywhere near the mouth its a bit too choppy for me and then BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How you going Kev,
On the seasick side of things, have you taken the old 'qwells'? I am a severe case but take these tablets and I'm great!

By they way, I've seen a few of your posts and will have to get to Crystal soon, especially before midday 7th Oct - end of Barra season...
