just wondering if anyone has had success towing a boat with one of the off the shelf boat covers? Buying a new boat ( 4.82 seascape kingfisher) but the budget won't allow for custom cover at this stage. Any info on brands , do's and don'ts would be appreciated.
cheers Deefa :-/

I bought a Bias Hurricane cover, blue in colour.
Ties down tight, tows well. About $299 I think.
I looked at custom covers and they were $700+, very poor WAF on that one :)
If you do buy an off the shelf one it needs to be "trailerable". A lot aren't.
Also when you do your boat measurement make sure you don't just use the length of the boat. Get a tape/stringline and measure from the tip of the bow, over the consoles etc, down to the back of the motor.
That way you'll buy the right one.

You could try www.cabelas.com (http://www.cabelas.com)
Good luck

Yep, sure is.
We had a major downpour and I didn't have the straps tight.
Ended up with a pool of water in the cover big enough to swim in.
No water in the boat.
No dust either with the winds down here.

Thanks again, sounds like one might be the go to get me out of trouble for awhile! Might even solve problem once and for all ( fingers crossed). Picked up new boat today, should have gone passed a Bias store and tried one for fit on way home!
