Tropical Trouts first jew fish

I had decide to go for a fish in the maroochy river this day. I wanted to get on the water bye 2.30 at my first spot. I fished it till tide turned and fished it for and hour after with no attention. Nath new i was going fishing so he gave me a text asking how i was going which i then gave him a call and said to him he should come out in my boat with me .
(Which he did ) i had then moved to a favorite jack and jew spot. We where using live bait and sitting at the creek mouth i fish often when around 6.20ish bang naths on oh no it let go. We where chatting away again when bang hes on this time fight great as he was using 12lb line with unkown leader size the fish put up a great fight when landed it went 73cm not bad for his first jew ever caught. We then stayed out for another 2 hours with only yep you guest it "CATFISH" to entertain us. 2 of them where of decent size and weight. All In all it was great to put nath onto his first ever jew fish and it was a good way to top of is long day at work . Pictures below;D

Yeah Cam I was some what over joyed to say the least I have not fished for them before it certainly was a target species last night as well as a red devil or two but the jewie played the game, The little bass outfit was stretched a bit thoughand the first run was a little worring I thought the line was goooooonnnnee.

Oh what fun.. Now back to Barra

Rustwater is good for a fall back now again 1 jack last week 1st jew this weekend might go jackin next weekend then I am back to Mondy I reckon for a quick session have a weekend or 2 off, then after that I move into mondy for a couple of weeks.:D

he has only jump over to the darkside till he can attack mondy again its good fun whitto chasing those river fish something different and i loved seeing nath face after he caught it priceless worth every cent and yes it did taste nice i tell ya ;D
dizzy borg loves to catch them too and i learnt a cleaning tip off him off the dvd and it works a treat for getting good clean fillets ;)

i would love to see nath reel with one of those big metre jew on the end would be good to watch he didi really well i tell ya plus it got tested out again when he hooked that big cattie it would have weighed 3 kg it was as fat as homer the barra but scaled down abit ;D

Great effort guys.
Nice feeling to get the jewies, theres something barra like about them, sort of a ledgendary feel, cant put my finger on it.
