I've found a couple of good deals on both of these reels latley & I'm wondering which of the two is best. I'll be using it for breaming Hbs & Sps. What do you think?

had a 2500 Advantage, couldnt fault it. My understanding is its a Sol less 1 bearing. I personally couldnt feel a difference between my 2500 Sol and Advantage. Never owned a Tierra

The Advantage is a better reel as it is a Sol with 1 less bearing as said above. I own a Caldia Kix which is the same as a Advantage only difference now is a few colours, name & spare spool..

the SOL, KIX, ADVANTAGE frame is a tad bigger over the Tierra frame. and the internals in the sol frame are a tad better. having had both apart side by side there are a few cost saving parts in the tierra.
also the tierra isnt as 'tight' as the TDA. still ive had / have both and the tierra was a very faithfull little workhorse.

I own a Daiwa Tierra 2000 and love it! Have you checked out the Shimano Saros 2500F and the Shimano Stradic 2500FI as they are around the same price as the Daiwa Tierra 2000.

I just bought a TD Advantage 3500 and used it on big barra. at Awoonga. It was great and smooth as under huge pressure with 30lb Braid loaded right up. I researched the Tierra as well when looking, the Advantage is more expensive which bears out what others are saying here. I think you would find both would be fine in the smaller ranges sizes you are looking at.
Cheers

i have the tierra 2500. after the first time i used it, it got a grinding feeling when i turned the handle. gave it back to the tackleshop and after he stuffed around for 3 months he finally gave it to the rep and they sent a new one. felt smooth as at first, one fish and its grinding again. dont know if theyre all like that but looks like ill just have to put up with it.
