Hi Folks,
I am going to Mission Beach with the family and our 5m quinny next week.
Please could you provide any info re boat ramps, tides, where to fish, where to get good bait etc.
If the weather is a bit rough what creeks to come back into.
cheers

Hammer.......not sure how far you want to travel....but first up the only real ramp is at Clump Point about 1-2 km's north of North Mission....
On your way between the shops and the ramp is a little bait shop/charter business...operated by a dude named Alistair Pike...fancy having a fish in your name when you operate a fishing charter business...he just has to be a good bloke..doesn't he..??
He goes out most days and mostly fishes around the islands but also sometimes goes out to the reef....so visit him early morning or late afternoon to get the lowdown and some bait and tackle...
If it's a bit rough fish for spanish or spotted mackeral around 40 foot ..just off Dunk Island or try silver sands ...about 10-15 km's NNE of the ramp...just look for the other boats due east of Kurrimine Beach.
If it's good enough for a reef trip, easiest is South east Yamacutta (edit ....should have said sth west as it's the closest point )...about 43 km's and there I have caught all the reefies plus plenty of school spanish on floaters and lures.
If it's windy try launching behind Sth Mission into the Hull River ....just leave some crabs for me please...
