after reading posts for last year and a few dismal efforts by myself with soft placcys family got me a day with Brian at Anglers Advantage beauty this is my chance to finally see how this is done.
Fathers day great day but when we get on the water thursday and fridays big fresh is evident straight away , we head down to the mouth of the maroochy river to wait for the making tide to push some clean water in but the boat traffic is mega .
get the low down on technique etc and realise what i had been doing wrong chase a few flattys and bream but only smallish fish caught .
later in the arvo tide is better and boat traffic has thinned out time to hit the mouth again drifting into narrowing channel twitch,twitch bang minnow is smashed this feels good but then feel trace catching around gill plate this cant be good steady steady and after five to ten big girl is finally in the net.
69cm and a pb for me stoked acouple of piccys and of the big girl swims great day and another one to the dark side
when i work out how to downsize the photos will post the photos

Hey mate, right click in the photo and then click edit. This will take you into paint. You then go into 'image' along the top and choose the stretch/skew option. Change the numbers down by equal amounts until it's small enough. For my camera, 20% of the original image is sufficient unless I'm using the very top level of quality. Another good idea is to 'save as' with this image, so if you want to use the original image for enlargements or printing, you still have the original, full size version. I personally save all resized images on to a folder on my computer dedicated to photos for posting online, so I can keep a copy of my photos in their original state.

Great to hear you got a nice fish, and even better, learned a thing or two. Now comes the big challenge, applying them to your own trips... Good luck!

I picked up a neat little utility called "shrink pic". It cuts in every time I'm sending/uploading, and automatically drops it to around 50k. It is absolutely top notch.

Nice fish Weasel!! I went out with Brian about a month ago & my strike rate has improved greatly since the trip. I was getting really frustrated & getting to the point of giving up but now I cant wait to get back out to see what I can catch! There is no better feeling than tricking a fish into hitting your lure, landing it, getting a photo & then watching it swim away! Although it is also pretty good to ocassionally eat some nice Flathead that you tricked!

It's a great sense of accomplishment is n't it?
Now the trick is scaling down your tackle (no pun int) and going finesse (or is it ultra-light?) Nothing like catching a fat fish on light line & takle.
