Good on you mate, thanks for the info
A friend of mine has been working the area with HB lures too of late and doing well on the flatties. ;D
I think they were the SX4 variety ?

Good spot to troll in Cabbage Tree Creek as the speed limit of 6 knots is the ideal trolling pace.

Might be one of the last chances we get too brandon. Not long till the green zones shut it down. I have to catch up with you guys for a fish soon. I am getting the bike dyno tuned this weekend cos I just put a turbo on it. Hopefully I can get out the weekend after..

Good point baitwaster! I haven't fished there for ages either, not since last summer when I was chasing prawns there quite a bit. I better have a couple of visits soon, before it's too late.

Yeah, Nundah Creek will be off limits, and most of Cabbage tree creek will be yellow zones according to the plan I saved on my docs.. one rod / handline with one hook.. So if we are using HBs with 2 trebles would we be in breach of the yellow zone ? >:(

Dirtysanchez,

Nah mate you will be ok with that setup in a yellow zone (lures with 2-3 trebles), I think it also includes bait jigs also (max of 4 hooks from memory??).

Nico, I am going to try to get there, I went shooting last weekend, I am playing motorbikes this weekend, the missus may want me around next weekend to remember what I look like. I will print out a photo of myself and put it on my pillow next weekend and see how I go, but if she works out it isn't really me, I could be in trouble. I'll let you know later next week - fingers crossed.

Dirty - what about your responsibilities to fishing mate??? - It's all about priorities LOL ;D and I dunno about you, but I have made the dog house really comfortable at my place.

LuckyStrike,

Hightide, or a couple of hours either side of it is best for Cabbage Tree. I would recomend trolling from the ramp. You can only go 6knots anyways so going a little slower with a couple of lures behind you isn't going to change much;) I prefer casting over trolling myself and I usualy head upstream from the ramp and fish most of the promising looking banks on the way untill I am sick of it lol.. I do know a LOT of people catch flathead at the mouth of the creek and just inside nunda Creek.

I fished it Sunday morning (low tide I know, it was the only time I could get out for a fish:(). My mate took his kids out that morning also. He managed 1 flathead for the boat at 40cms caught in 2foot of water, I managed to drop a flathead at the boat about same size in a similar depth. I also managed 1 32cm Bream on a very very slow troll with a plastic in 6foot and a small tailor flicking into a bait bustup.

Hope this helps mate.

Cheers
Brandon...
