Hi all!!

Headed up the pine Sunday morning, A little late unfortunately as both my alarm and my Mate Nico's didn't go off:-/ Still we made it on the water around 6am;) We started at the Highway Bridge Nico was flicking a little hard body and some plastics while I was bouncing a Prawnstar off the bottom. Didn't get one hit except once from a pylon witch decided it wanted my prawnstar more than i did>:( We then drifted up stream chasing some Flathead witch were either not around or didn't want to play the game.. Nico's son Jeremy managed to hook a flathead awhile latter on his new birthday present;) but unfortunately it shook free of the hook before hitting then net:'( about 5 casts latter Nico hooks onto a miniature flathead witch also threw the hook before hitting the boat::) Not long before this little bit of action I thought Bugger these Flathead and threw on a 1/40th TT jig head and a 2" gulp shrimp to try for a Bream or two. It didn't take too long after the flathead for me to get a solid hit! First run had a lot of power and I called it for a Very good flathead but, after the next run witch had a number of fast head shakes and nearly twice as much line pealing from my reel I was thinking I have a Trevally here!!;D But it wasn't.. turned out to be my new PB Bream:o What a stonker he was!! Big blue lips, Huge chompers thick shoulders and a fat belly. Measured 39.5cms on the brag mat and my fishing ruler;) (tip length not fork) I reckon he would have weighed around 1kg too8-) When we had him in the net I was sure I had my first 40cm+ Bream he was sooo close!! lol. We let him go after a couple of Pics (witch I hope Nico will post tonight). and continued fishing till just after lunch for zip:-[

cheers

Good report Brandon, Congratulations on the PB bream, it's a good one :laola:

Just how strong was that wind? :( it would have blown a dog off it's chain out the front :wut:

I found the Pine to be a bit slow last week as well, the lizards should start to grow in numbers soon :2thumbsup:

Cheers,
John.

I've found the flatties really start to thin out a lot around the pine area once september hits. But another fish that's red in colour starts to turn up. I got the hit yesterday, but couldn't sink the hooks. Should have been out there today..

Crikey Brandon,
that bugger's a horse!
Come Stradbroke Cup time I bet he comes outta Gate 7 at $2.20 for a win and $1.30 for a place!
What sort of retrieve got you your bream? Slows hops with pauses?
Jimbo
P.S. The 68cm model came from the Pine, but in March and from the drain just past where the boats are moored..

Thanks for your comments everyone:) Even though I haven't got my 40cm Bream yet I am still stoked!!! I reckon if his tail fin's weren't rounded he would have reached 40cms anyways:P;D lol

Keith, Reason I had a prawnstar on first up was because I want another one of them Red fish:P just didn't plan on loosing it so fast:-[ really need to watch the current around the bridge...

Jimbo, he didn't muck around mate!! I cast into a likely spot, waited for it to hit bottom but it didn't!! Smack zzzzzzz lol.

Cheers
