Well this is my first post.

I was away for work and took my shimano raider and tiera 2500 for a walk around the boat ramp at Clump point, 5 inch popper hanging of the 20lb braid (yes 20).
Tossed it around for half an hour or so just before dark looking for a trevally or anything else that may have been around.
I was standing on the rocks 5 feet above the water not much activity and no baitfish about , so the last cast thing was announced and just as the popper was about to get lifted from the water a barracuda the size of a small planet decided to spray me with water and remove my popper from my possesion, never even felt the bite, braid sliced through like butter.
It was bloody huge and in only 3 or 4 foot of water.
Tried to put on another popper but my hands were shaking so much it took me 10 minutes.

Hope to place another post oneday showing one i actually get to land.

Cheers

Is that Clump point,Mission beach you are talking of,albyone??

I caught my first ever coral trout of the rockwall by the boat ramp 13 years ago and didn't even know what it was until I asked a local...I didn't know why he seemed so surprised.
