How to use soft plastics?

How do you use soft plastics?
Throw them out and let them sink like normal bait?
Leave them out when drifting?
Cast and retrieve like a lure?
Theres so many on the market and everyone is talking about them but I have no idea how to use them.

Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated

Whats your target fish? Best method is a cast and retrieve, using different retrieves depending on target species.
They can be left cast out and left behind a drifting boat aswell, prob not as effective, but does catch fish too.

buy the berkley plastic set u get a dvd with it will give u a great intro to plastics, also u get some placcies jigheads and stuff......
