Hi,
being an oldskool music disc jockey i love my vinyl records. :P Now records are a thing of the past & digital/cd entertainment is more popular now, I can see a similarity between the latest craze being "soft plastics" :o compared to the old fashioned worm on a hook bait. I am a new weekend fisherman & would like to know the best soft plastic to use for snapper or whiting in port phillip bay.. I would like to purchase online.. i just dont know if brands like berkley gulp etc are the real deal or just a gimmick?::)
Thanks in advance..
Sean

Just read a thousand reports on this site! Personally I cant see one reason for me to go back to bait again after catching so well on plastics, especially Gulps.

it depends on the day sometimes plastics will go better and sometimes bait will, i think the bigger snapper are more common on lures.
any 5-7'' plastics are fine whether its gulp, zoom atomic ect different plastics will outfish each other on different days. ive been doin better on the 5 powerbaits then the 5 gulp latly.

Ah mate there is plenty of soft plastic fans on this site. As been said try the search function. There was a poll recently about best plastics for snapper.

I mainly use gulps in 4", 5" and sometimes 7" when chasing the bigger ones. Colours I like best are blue pepper neon, nuc chicken, curry chicken, watermelon, camo. Also Zoom superflukes in baby bass work good.

I do have the odd lazy day about twice a year where i chuck out a live bait and just sit back and chill :P
