Hi,
I have a question for those who may be more knowledgable than I. I have decided to buy a deepwater jigging/ baitfishing/ livebait rod with an eggbeater. I figure that with a new boat the mrs is going to want to get into fishing and want something that will be easy for her to use, and something that will be handy for me. I was going to lash out ad go Stella/ Daiwa dogfight quality but the stops have been put on me and now I have to go to a 'reasonable' budget.
I have been looking at Cabela's, I found what I think may be ok, I want something with plenty of grunt (I fish quite a bit around shallow reefs up north), but also pretty user friendly for the squeeze to use.
I have decided on a Stradic 8000FI, and a Tallus TLC 70HSBA rod. The rod is classed as a 'casting rod' but has no index finger grip, so I am assuming it will be ok to use with an eggbeater???
How do you think this combo would go with 50lb braid for use in offshore applications?? If its a bit hard for the mrs to use, that's ok, I have other rods she can use, I just needed an excuse!!!
Thanks in advance.
Shane
