My mate finally got a leave pass so we headed out at 5am or so from Dohles Rocks. Dropped the obligatory pots in the river and headed through the mouth. Was a bit ordinary trying to navigate with only 3 of the dozen or so beacons showing lights but got to Scott's Point safely.

Fished the finger of rock that runs between the point and Otter Rock (never quite sure what to call that area so if anyone knows, please let me know). Was very slow early but finally found a nice bit of ground with lots of fish showing on the sounder. Managed 3 legal bream including one snodger (35cm to V), a queenie, a wobbegong shark, a chopper, heaps of pike and even a little moses perch.

Pulled the pin before lunch and retrieved the pots which had not even been touched.

Great day on the water after too long a break.

Mrs Benno1: The big bream caught itself on a large peeled prawn sitting in a rod holder. The rest were taken on pumpkin seed and watermelon gulps except for the wobbegong which went for a pike.

Nico: The queenie was only small (34cm) - we threw it back but it looks like there is no size limit so next time I'd be tempted to see what they taste like - never caught or tasted one before.

Good fish there. I caught a 40 cm to the tip at peel late one night on a hard body and didnt think to put it beside a legal one to show the size of the big bugger. Mine was real dark around the mouth and fat as. Good fish good fish.
