I've been reading on this forum for the last month or so with some scepticism about the effectiveness of soft plastics and decidied to give it a fling this weekend. I am now converted!
Saturday started with 2 unspectacular flathead but it gave me a real buzz to catch my 1st fish on soft plastics. I moved to another spot and thats when the fun really started. I caught a 35cm trevally (juvenile GT I think) and then another smaller one a couple of casts later. I also got bust off (leader knot) by the best screaming run of the morning. I finished the session with 2 nice bream also. Guess who forgot to pack the camera>:( .

Today was a lot slower in the same area as yesterday but I managed to pick up a nice 45cm fish that I think is a golden trevally?, and also a big eye trevally around 40 cm. This time I didn't forget the camera.

I love soft plastics!

That's a fantastic start to soft plastics fishing. I hope your good run continues.

I'd pick the top one as being a GT. Do you eat them? If so, how do you cook them and what's the taste like?

Regards
Brad

Absolutely delicious if you bleed well, fillet and cut out all the red bits. Dip in egg wash, lightly flour and then pan fry. Lightly salt and start licking your lips!
