Hi guys,
My young bloke and I had a great sesh on Saturday arvo. Got on the water about 2.30pm, real cracker on the river no wind just a good drift speed. We started by getting a couple of live baits then picked a ledge to drift at the mouth of the Brissy, well dropped the first live bait down and gave the rod to Mitchell, and before I could pick up my rod to bait it Mitch was on. 15 mins later Mitch had his first big thready in the boat and a smile to match, with that I dropped a livey in, it was about 30 secs and I was on too Mitch drove the boat and we took chase. 20 mins later another threadie hit the deck, this was great. We got one more which we tried to release but without luck.

They all went about 12kg not bad for our first try at the Brissy Threadies.

Good work alrite, shame u couldnt revive the thready but thats the chance u take i guess when fishing live baits. It sucks i cant target these brutes on the sunnycoast :(

jealously is a curse lol.

We live in a pretty special place when a trip to a capital city river produces fish like that! Great catch fellas.

Well done, excellent result with some nice treaddies.

What sort of weight were you using with the livies, and were you using a running ball sinker straight down to the hook?

Picked up a 60cm model last weekend on a berkely 4inch smelt, but thinking about heading out around the new moon to chase some on livies.

Was using 6kg with a 40lb trace and yes a running pea sinker straight on the hook.

Thats a great catch out of a river running through a capital city. Good on Mitchell scoring such a great fish

Well done mate, good stuff. I'm still to get one of these fish :-/ the last time we tried was with livies, couldn't give the things away. Have had no luck on lures either.
