To start off Me and a Mate had planned a trip To fish the canals at Caloundra since Saturday had a perfect forecast :) .

Got up early and was on the water about 6 ish, started off slow with a couple of just legal Bream hitting our Squidgeys in the first hour.
Then i was getting the crack of things when I hooked onto my first Bream on a soft plastic ;D into the net and he measured 26cm. (Cool).
Kept working our way up to a "Lock and Weir, when i threw my plastic deep into the weir as i worked it back a large school of Mullet flashed past, And my plastic got hit hard zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz the litle shimano is screaming. Holsy was onto it and gave chase as this beast had gone round a pole and was about 100m downstream. 5 mins later and a NICE sized trevally had surfaced, got him onto the brag mat and measured 52cm few pics then back in the drink ya go mate.

KEPT 4 bream between 26cm-29cm was a good day and holsy has a few pics mite try to get sum up.
Cheers reece.

Nicely done loop, I know that spot and have heard many talk about catching fish there but I was yet to actually see a report from it. What species of trev was it? And what plastic did the damage? Cheers for the report.

Hey joel was my first time fishing there, we where casting up towards the weir which had a steady flow of water over it, and getting some solid hits but no hookups. Im pretty sure the trevally was a big eye, it was just a regular one.
we tried gulps but the only plastic that did the damage was Squidgy wrigler 65mm bloodworm coulour with the spice of S-Factor added to it.
