Team,
has anyone fitted a set of 30 or 50mm spring spacers to an 80 series? My Cruiser has almost new standard springs and shocks, so I don't want to throw it away to fit a $1500 suspension lift kit.

Does fitting the spring spacers ($140 full set) actually lif the truck? I don't want anything real big, just to stop the rear dragging through the tracks we drive.

Cheers.

They work fine for what you'd be chasing.

Check first if your shocks are long enough though - they might top out with the lift if they are standard

They are never a good idea, far better to have the length of spring that suits the shocks although the spacers work OK to make up for spring sag.

50mm will be too much but lot's do it.

If you buy new rear springs from a non 4x4 place, for example an auto parts place like coventry, the unmarketed non value added king springs cost is not large and you very well might get the spring you would have bought without the re- branding and near 100% markup. Considering the work involved either way new springs is next to no more effort, I bought 2 new rear kings with a decent carrying capacity from coventry for $165.00.
Dobinsons are also good.

cheers fnq

Keep in mind that spring spacers are illegal in QLD.
