hi ryan, i have holidayed/fished there for many years, its sort of recently had all new green zone style barriers set up there so getting the map for where you can't fish would be a good start. the local boat harbour is a good place to start, nice big bream and such and if your lucky mangrove jack get caught there too. i would take some pots with you because there's a few muddies up the bigger main river and plenty of interesting places to try for bream whiting flathead and maybe a school jew or mangrove jack. if your tinnie is big enough to head off shore thats where i would going. hope this helps somewhat.
cheers

Hey mate. Where the main highway crosses the river there are some oyster leases and there are some solid bream around there. Up near the mouth on the north side of the river there is a couple of creeks that you should fish the mouth of to get your usual bag. There is some good beach fishing half a k north of the rock wall mouth that gets some nice fish.

Just out the mouth about 1km north in front of Pine trees is reef system between 10 and 20 metres deep. Great spot to drift plastics for squire and cod. Last time there caught heaps of nice squire up to 55cm. Good time of year for big flatties and tailor at the mouth also.

I love the brunz river , I caught 7 Jacks there in Feb in 3 outings. Last 2 weaks they have been killing the Jew off the wall.Great fishing all the way to Mullum. but the bar crossing is a real bitch but great bay type fishing if you can get out.
